Item: This a vintage musical jewelry box made in Japan circa 1970 by Schmid Bros. The top is covered with a photographically printed fabric of Thomas Gainsborough's masterpiece Blue Boy. The style is meant to mimic the fine jewelry boxes of the 18th and 19th centuries. The music box still works and plays Strangers In The Night. It's a great box for rings, earrings, tie clips or just about any bits and bobs you might want to hide away and keep dust free. These boxes are rarely found in such good condition and although this has it's original tag and was likely never used there is some light wear and patina consistent with age and storage. If you sell jewelry this would be a fun piece for a display case.
