Item: This is a wonderful compact in the shape of a book made by Coty in the 1950s. It comes in it's original box and was never used. It's a beautifully designed high quality piece and is in excellent unused condition with some age patina to the mirror and the protective sleeve has stiffened over time. Coty has a fascinating history dating back to 1904. Founded as a fragrance company by Francois Coty in Paris, Coty worked with the likes of Baccarat and Lalique to design the perfume bottles. The company is now a multinational corporation headquartered on 5th Avenue in New York and still works with some of the most respected fashion designers in the world.
