This is a fun pair of sterling silver nielloware clip earrings made in Siam in the 1950s. Nielloware is a style of jewelry in which parts of a metal surface (usually silver) are chemically treated and then baked resulting in a permanently blackened finish. The piece is then polished and the parts that aren't treated shine through resulting in the two tone look. These earrings, like much of the Siam silver genre, depict dancing Hindu Goddesses. In this case a Dakini - or Sky Dancer.
