Item: This is a fun red leatherette box with a moiré taffeta lining inside. The box is made of wood and covered in a thin layer of red leather screened with gold accents. This was made in Italy circa 1920 and likely contained a micro mosaic box or a quality piece of jewelry at one time. It is nicely made but is marred and stained here and there which speaks to it's age. Little trinket boxes like this have a thousand uses. It would make a great mens jewelry box for cufflinks and rings, a good catch all for paper clips and rubber bands on a desktop or a nice storage piece for an antique item.
