This is a beautiful 800 silver compact made in Italy in the 1930s. It is engraved with a classic Rococo acanthus leaf pattern. The top opens up first to reveal the beautifully detailed center divider and a beveled glass mirror. The divider then pulls up to open the second chamber which no longer has any powder inside. The mirror is intact but has some silvering loss under the bevels. This is marked inside with the Italian assay mark used in the 1930s as well as the number 800 identifying the purity of the silver and the letter G

Condition: 9 - Very good gently used condition showing light patina and wear consistent with age. The mirror has some silvering loss under the bevels.
