Marcel Boucher - 1937 -1971
French born jewelry designer Marcel Boucher emigrated to the U.S. in the 1920s settling in New York where he took an apprenticeship with Pierre Cartier. In the 1930s Boucher was offered a job for the Mazer Brothers where he worked until he struck out on his own in 1937. His beautiful designs are are signed in a variety of ways including the initials MB, Marboux, a phrygian cap logo (an image that became tied to the French Revolution) Boucher with a copyright symbol which is often seen with a four digit product number. His jewelry sold in higher end stores such as Saks 5th Avenue and is currently undervalued. When Marcel died in 1965 his wife took over the company which was then sold in the early 1970s.
